The CAL students are wrapping up their Robotics Challenge Course unit. This trimester, the students used the provided building instructions and a series of smaller lessons to build and program a robot with various sensor and motor attachments before putting it all together in their own program for the Challenge Course that asked them to detect and grab a cuboid block, move it to a target zone, and then find and follow the curved line back to the starting point.

YOU'RE A MEAN ONE MR. GRINCH!!! The NPTO invites you to the first Movie Night of the year this Friday, December 1st! Doors open at 6 pm. Hope to see you there!

It's great when your classwork comes alive... literally! A field journal of cool things found outside meant finding this salamander and then doing a bit of research to write a few paragraphs with topic sentences about it.

It was an exciting day in 5th Grade Tech Class: a lesson about check bits and check digits used in electronic file storage and credit card and ISBN numbers that included photos of 3.5" and 5.25" floppy disks had to also include a real live example of a computer that uses 3.5" floppy disks... Mr Anderson's original 1984 Apple Macintosh computer! The floppy disk drive needs a new spring, so we weren't able to get past this blinking ? icon, but they did get a chance to see how the disk drive system works and to try out the "old school" keyboard and mouse.

A big thank you to the CAL students who recently worked with Angela, Brad, and Ron from Coastal Rivers to repair the bridge on the nature trail behind the school!

Pack 213 is excited to see new and returning members this Thursday from 530-630 p.m. at GSB.

Pizza on a Friday was no surprise, but many students were more excited to see the local kale chips from Spears Farm join the local apples and tomatoes in the lunch line!

Looking to sport some fresh Lions apparel? The Lions apparel store is open through 10/1. Orders placed should be ready mid-October, as they do not process the orders until the close date. Once they are ready, we will pick them up from the store and hand them out at school.

Hearty Roots is thrilled to partner with NCS to offer an 8 week long outing club right on site after the school day, open to all 7th and 8th graders that attend school at NCS. Our programming is unique, it’s intentionally small scale with high caliber staff, and based on primitive skills and emotional wellness. It’s also sure to be tons of outdoor fun this fall! We operate on a sliding fee scale so that all families can have access to our offerings. Please select a ‘code’ that suits your family’s budget most comfortably.
Learn more and sign your child up right on our website:

FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL...Nobleboro Central School students returned to school today, Aug. 31, after summer vacation. Younger children dug in the sandbox and ran on the playground while middle-schoolers played football and caught up with each other. NPTO spoiled the staff with a table full of tasty treats. Thanks, NPTO! And welcome back NCS students and families!

Incoming kindergartners who will attend NCS in the fall visited the library Thursday morning and boarded the big yellow school bus! They heard a story and completed an art project with Mrs. Harriman and Mr. Bullard, then learned about riding the bus. Welcome, little Lions!

It's that time of year! All library books are due back at the NCS Library now. Lost and overdue notices will be going home this week. Please ask your child if they have any library books to return. THANK YOU!
