In acknowledgement of Earth Day, the fifth graders went outside and cleaned up an area just outside the school. Among the items found were bottles, foam, wrappers, a baseball, a rusted bicycle frame, and a disc golf disc. -Ms. Kinney

My writing group was posed with a question on Earth Day of what they could do with trash they threw out on the weekend. One of the students suggested a bird feeder from a can. So….we did it. Pictures are 2 of the 4 students with their masterpieces! - Lynsey Teel

Friday, April 5th is a remote learning day for BCS. Due to our construction timelines we need to stick with our remote learning plan despite the widespread power outages. Students in grades PK-8 should complete the next remote learning packet that went home in folders earlier this year. Teachers will be available via Rooms messaging or email to support your child’s learning throughout the day.

Due to the storm, there will be no school at Nobleboro and Great Salt Bay on Thursday, April 4. There will be a remote day at Jefferson, South Bristol, and Bristol unless there are widespread power outages. Stay tuned for a decision on Friday as we see how the storm progresses. Stay safe!
Grades 4 and 5 recently hosted Heidi Fairbanks a former musher of the Iditarod. 4th and 5th graders followed the Iditarod Race this year during their reading classes. It was neat to meet someone who’d been there, done that, and could answer all our questions. - Mrs. Arzate

Guest chefs, Chris Toy and Chad McKernan, are working with 5th grade students to prepare dumplings . BCS students will sample the dumplings, along with duck sauce, fried rice and tea later this morning
