Dear Families,
Please have students wear the following. If you don’t have exactly what’s on the list, have them wear something close to what is suggested. We are not expecting students to buy new clothes. Students can check with us and the dancers on Thursday/Friday if they have questions. We appreciate your help!
***Both boys and girls wear the same thing, girls have some special hair requests as noted.***

A Celebration of Chinese Culture - Friday, March 29th at 6 pm.
Student Art Show at the Bristol Area Library
A reception was held for students and families at the annual student art show at the library. Congratulations to our student artists! - Mrs. Cough
BCS started the day with a Ribbon Dance performed by Nico Li and Yuxi Liu. The celebration of Chinese Culture has begun. Friday at 6 PM the students will perform for the community!

We are excited to welcome Nico Li and Yuxi Liu from the New York Chinese Cultural Center out of New York City. They will work with students the week of March 25th.
The evening community performance will take place on Friday, March 29 beginning at 6:00PM.
Nico Li has been dedicated to promoting Chinese culture through art for over a decade, and more recently, as the Artistic Director at the New York Chinese Cultural Center, where she continues to further develop her artistic vision and identify as an immigrant artist and cultural bearer. For the past years, she has curated, produced, and directed over 400 educational and performative programs and reached out to over 150,000 audience members annually.

During our monthly community meeting, grades 3-5 work together to identify areas of the school or school day where we can make positive changes. This month students are creating posters to teach and remind their peers about the expected behaviors at lunch. - Mrs. Arzate
This month Miss Shocki’s team celebrated their writing. We invited grownups and BCS community members to join us as we practiced our speaking and listening skills.
Recently, in science, fifth graders learned about the water cycle. In a hands-on experiment, students tried to make it rain by using combinations of cold water, warm water, a cold atmosphere, and a warm atmosphere. Through this experiment and other discussions, students learned about elements of the water cycle including evaporation, condensation, precipitation, transpiration, and more. Students used this new knowledge to answer a variety of water cycle questions in groups and were excited to see all that they had learned. -Ms. Kinney
