Dear Parent(s)/Guardian(s):
We will be holding basketball tryouts for 6th,7th and 8th grade boys on Tuesday 11/12 and Wednesday 11/13. Times will be announced next week. Tryouts are to help confirm the number of players who will actually be playing out of the numbers that signed up and to determine the rosters for both boys basketball teams. Regular team practices will begin on Thursday 11/14. Players who have signed up to play basketball must be present at both days of tryouts to be considered for a team roster spot.
A current physical (within the past 2 years) must be on file with the nurse at GSB prior to tryouts. If we do not have a current physical, students will not be allowed to participate in tryouts.
If you have questions regarding physicals, please contact Sam in the front office. Other questions can be directed to me at jadickes@aos93.org.

5th grade had a generous donation of field hockey sticks for Ms. Erin and Mr. Wallace to be able to generate interest (there’s LOTS of it) and learn all about Field Hockey! Mrs. Colby and Mrs. Girard were also awesome team players and allowed Ms. Erin to have extra PE with the 5th grade so we could host a 2 time state champ Coach from Gardiner, Coach Sharon, at a skills clinic…. It was an awesome opportunity and the kids loved it!

5th grade presented their cardboard kinetic art projects during the GSB 5th grade cardboard ARTcade event this week where they invited the 4th grade to participate and win prizes. Students have worked on this project exploring the design engineer process while learning specific cardboard attachment techniques to create sturdy and interactive compositions. This 8 week unit was inspired by Caine's Arcade (see the video here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=faIFNkdq96U)
