What do you do when you get a new microphone in the 6th grade classroom? Have a Karaoke Advisory period, of course!






GSB will be having the spring MEA assessment window open to any homeschooled students in Damariscotta, Newcastle and Bremen who would like to get a 2023 Maine State Assessment score for any 3rd - 8th grade student in Math & Reading and for any 5th or 8th grade student in science from 8:30 - 10:30 am on May 11th, May 18th and May 22nd. Please contact the GSB front office to register your homeschooled student by May 5th to participate by emailing gsbfrontoffice@aos93.org

6th graders are using spaghetti models to predict the probability of a hurricane making landfall in a certain state.





5/6 strings field trip to the Waldo Theatre. It was a beautiful presentation . The String Quartet provided musical accompaniment to the storytelling and songs . The backdrop was the illustrations from the books by Robert McClosky and Ashley Bryan.



5th grade Mathcounts students using the Prime Climb game to reinforce their work with prime numbers.

Mrs. Verney’s guidance class had a guest reader from 3rd grade!


Third grade is so lucky to experience a monthly trip to the Salt Bay Farm. One of our three experiences this month included using microscopes and making scientific drawings.






Every morning Sam's voice greets us over the intercom with the morning announcements and pledge of allegiance. Here she is with a GSB Kindergarten class getting ready for the pledge! Thank you Sam!

* Come when you can, leave when you need to! Dress for outdoor work.
* No childcare but kid-friendly jobs.
* Donuts & coffee in the morning. BYO lunch & drinks.
* Bring gardening tools: gloves, rakes, shovels and wheelbarrows.
* Pickup trucks would be helpful to take items to the dump.

In March, the third graders made colcannon, Irish potato farls, and Irish white bean and cabbage stew. We have seen so much progress in their cooking skills since September.
