As part of studying Maine, 3rd Grade students took a field trip to the top of Katahdin! They followed along and looked all round them as "Pilgrim" (the trail name of an Appalachian Trail thru-hiker finishing his roughly 2200 mile hike) made his way to the summit to touch the sign marking the northern end of the AT. Over the coming weeks, they will (virtually) visit and learn about West Quoddy Head Lighthouse, the Penobscot Narrows Bridge and Observatory, and more. 6th graders will soon be traveling around Africa and 4th graders will take a road trip across the US as part of their studies. The VR headsets were made possible thanks to a very generous grant from the Maine Dept of Education to support Teaching with Technology. Thank you, DOE!
