The golf team hosted Troy Howard last night at Wawenock golf course and came out on top! It was a great team effort for the win! The golf team has its final conference tournament on Tuesday, October 7th at the Rockland Golf Club.

Great soccer games at GSB yesterday! The boys team won 5-4 over Medomak in extra time. The girls team lost 0-1, with the only goal coming with less than two minutes left in the game. Both teams played great!

Next up, GSB plays Oceanside tomorrow, Wednesday, 10/1. The boys play at 3:45 and the girls at 5. Concessions will once again be open.

8th graders studied what happens when sodium metal is placed in water.

The CATS concession stand will be open 3:30-6:30 today (9/29) for GSB's home soccer games. GSB boys play Medomak at 3:45, followed by the girls at 5. Please come support the soccer teams and support our boosters team as well!

On Friday, the girls soccer team beat Richmond 4-1 on the road! GSB's defense came out strong. Grace Kutch and Lindley Tisbert both booted solid balls across the field protecting goalie, Taylor Donahue, who saved multiple attempts at net. In the second-half, the girls came out fired up and ready to play their game. Passes were crisp, communication was on point, and the goals started rolling in! Natalie Chickering and Piper Grant each contributed 2 goals.

GSB boys soccer came out on top 4-2 over Richmond Friday night! Sawyer Cheney had a strong game in goal which really set the tone for a strong overall defensive performance by the team. Michael Pinkham and Gavin Griffin each chipped in goals helping keep GSB on top. Every player for GSB got in and contributed to this win. Great game GSB!

Next up, the boys play today, Monday, 9/29, at 3:45 pm vs Medomak and the girls play home against Medomak at 5 pm. The new GSB concession stand will be open for snacks and dinner! Come support the teams and enjoy our new concession stand!

4th and 7th graders are working hard on GSB’s trail system. They have been using their time marking the trails with blazes, using loppers to cut back the bittersweet, and removing debris! We are hoping to have it all useable for the Jog a Thon coming up in October!

Kindergarten and 7/8th graders have been having a ball with Soccer in PE! These middle schoolers have been volunteering during their recess to help Ms. Erin teach our Kindergartners some soccer skills!

Kindergarten is learning about life cycles with Ms. Hedda in the greenhouse.

The golf team was back at it against Camden on Tuesday. This time around the team scored their first points in a match against Camden and multiple GSB players improved their match scores by double-digits compared to the first time they faced off. Despite taking the loss, GSB's golf team made vast improvements in a short amount of time.

Top finishers from the match were: Mason Storer 50, Brooks Blagdon 51, Charles Lane 51, and Jacob Martin 52.

The team has a lot to be proud of!

2nd graders learning and having fun at the Shell Middens!

Congrats to both the girls and boys soccer teams for great wins over Searsport Wednesday! The girls team won 7-0, and the boys won 9-3. Solid defense, great passing and nonstop shots on goal were the keys to GSB's success. A special shout out to Eliza Shumacher, Marley Gregory, Miles Bowdoin, Jamison Bagley, and Parker Snyder on scoring their first goals of the season!

Next up, both teams head to Richmond, on Friday, 9/26.

Rain means Health Class in the yurt learning about all the ways to keep themselves and each other safe in 1st grade!

First graders working with Ms. Jen to figure out how much their base 10 builds were worth. Some of them had to count into the thousands!

Award winning author Robert McCloskey's birthday was September 15th. Last week in the Library Prek, K and 1st graders explored his books through read alouds with Mrs Allen (Make Way for Ducklings and Blueberries for Sal) and art projects. Miss Hedda brought in Blueberries for Pre K to sample and Kindergarten students made blueberry smoothies with the smoothie bike!

Yesterday GSB’s Cross Country team had a very successful meet in Boothbay! Our boys team came in 1st place out of 7 teams. Congratulations to Jakob Iverson who finished 2nd, Paton Grant in 4th and Percy Krawic in 5th place.


Our girls team placed 2nd overall! Tiny Hall finished 1st and Everlee Moore came in 4th. A great meet for the Cougars!


The Cross Country team’s next meet is Thursday, 10/2, at Salt Bay Farm.

Talk about a comeback! After a tough match against a strong Camden team earlier in the week, our GSB Golf team showed incredible grit and bounced back with a huge win yesterday!

The team defeated Troy Howard 9-3 at the Northport Golf Club. A special shoutout to Mason Storer for posting the lowest score of the match! Great team win, GSB!

They'll have a chance to show what they've learned when they face Camden again on Tuesday, 9/23, at the Megunticock Golf Club. Let's go, GSB! ⛳️
