There will be a GSB PTO table of homemade baked goods for sale during intermission.

During our Animal Adaptions unit in Science, Mrs. Welch’s Class had so much fun searching for moths that were camouflaged amongst the trees. We first enjoyed looking for the moths and then we designed our own moths to hide within our classroom! We are still looking for some of them!

GSB 2nd graders always finding ways to have fun in the woods!

Mr. Coleman's class studies a young Beech tree at the Hidden Valley Nature Center that had all of the bark removed. The tree appears to be covered in teeth marks almost all the way to the top. I wonder what did that?

Welcome back to GSB’s softball coach Beth Sewall!
This is Beth’s second year coaching GSB softball, and a total of three years coaching; transitioning from farm league to middle school softball. Beth played the game for seven years, where she had two coaches that inspired her to coach. Coaching for Beth is a passion and she enjoys being able to keep the sport alive for her athletes. Coach Beth takes pride in her ability to evaluate all of her athletes and helps them excel in different positions on the field that they may have never thought they would be an asset in. She works with each athlete to build confidence on and off the field. Coach Beth’s moto measures the success of her team by the impact her athletes have on their own growth throughout the season, not by the amount of games won. With growth comes respect, winning of games, and a whole lot of fun!
Best of luck to Beth and the GSB softball team this season!

Third graders enjoyed a science lesson by organizing fruits by their traits. They were also surprised to learn that plants have parents!

Third graders headed to the Y on St Patrick's Day to make some Irish dishes. They made colcannon, scones, bean soup and a delicious Apple Tansey dessert. These kids have some skills!

GSB held assemblies for K-4 and 5-8 students on Friday to celebrate student achievement and citizenship!

Here's a GSB shout out to one of our incredible, creative and enterprising students who volunteered to design and 3D print new classroom hallway signs for teachers!

Chess has become a popular activity when GSB 5th graders visit Skidompha Library!

Fifth grade works with Paul from Hearty Roots to build a shelter and start a fire. S'mores were enjoyed at the end!

PI Day at GSB was a fantastic success once again! 🥧🎉
More than 170 students took on the challenge of memorizing the digits of pi and showcased their skills in their classrooms. Each grade then sent their top two memorizers to represent them at the school assembly—what an impressive display of talent and dedication!
To make things even more fun, each grade-level winner earned the chance to choose a staff member to get “PIED” (with whipped cream!) right in the face. Our incredible staff truly embraced the moment—they were enthusiastic, supportive, and a few even came ready for it!
It was such a fun and memorable way to celebrate math, school spirit, and our amazing community. 💙

Sometimes when we need to clean and refold the PI DAY tarp we play with it like a parachute on a windy day with our favorite Resource Officer, Officer Wells! Honestly, this was way too much fun for all of us!
Thank you Officer Wells for always hanging out with us, participating in PE and being the absolute best sport! From Penguin Hands to tarp folding- you always keep us laughing and working as a team!
