Mrs. Farnsworth’s class is learning about weather and what makes a rainbow in the sky. We competed a rainbow craft with our 4th grade buddies and made a “walking rainbow” using primary colors.

The multiage 1st and 2nd Graders had a great time learning about animal adaptions in Maine and about building shelters in the forest. Thank you to Sarah Gladu for leading us through the woods so that we could learn to identify signs of animals. We found burrows, woodpeckers holes, and fox tracks!
Mr. Nick has been teaching Kindergarteners about coding during our technology time. They got to use the robots this week.

GSB held their winter sports banquet, potluck style, with both boys and girls basketball teams and cheerleaders enjoying the food, memories and laughter in the cafeteria. What a GREAT season for all teams! Thank you Coach Adickes, Coach Wallace and Coach Kim for dedicating so much time, effort, and knowledge to this season!
In Art - grades pre-K through fourth grade are starting their fiber art units.
Each project aligns developmentally with skills that relate to necessary, fine motor, sequencing, and pattern development for other academic subjects.
The youngest students in Pk and K learn about weaving concepts, using circle looms built from paper bowls. These are fun and forgiving looms that allow students to experiment with color, texture, and develop technical skills.

There are still spots available for girls in grades 6-8 for the next session of Heart & Sole starting on March 31st! Practices are every Wednesday from 3-5pm with an additional practice on Monday March 31st and on Monday April 7th.

PreK tried out their new rain suits paid for by a grant from Maine Environmental Education Association. They were able to learn how to tap a maple tree on this rainy Wednesday and will get to participate in making maple syrup next week.

Hey GSB community! Study those Pi numbers! The GSB Pi Day Celebration will take place on March 14th. All grade-level winners will compete for a chance to throw out the first pitch at a Seadogs game AND throw a pie at a favorite teacher!
Ms Tracy’s class reviewed our school matrix when we returned from vacation. Students enjoyed using their acting skills to show they to be respectful, responsive, and safe at GSB. They also have non examples which led to lots of laughter and fun.
