3rd grade is thankful for our awesome families and GSB community. Students enjoyed serving their parents a FARMs dish, reading thankful letters, and driving their balloon on a programmed Lego Car they built.
Welcome back GSB's Cheer Coach Michelle Gagnon!
Michelle fell in love with cheerleading by watching her older cousins at high school basketball games when she was six years old. She did some pee-wee cheer and then all four years of high school. Michelle has three daughters who all cheered for Great Salt Bay. She has been a cheer Mom for 12 years, assistant coach for eight years and has been head coach at GSB since 2021. "I am deeply committed to building confidence, strength, and personal growth in all GSB cheerleaders."
We look forward to seeing GSB's cheerleaders on the sidelines at some upcoming basketball games!

The 8th grade boys and girls basketball teams picked up wins over Richmond on Saturday!
Next up, the 8th grade boys host Jefferson on Monday, 12/8, at 3:45 pm. Also on Monday, the 7th grade boys bball team heads to Boothbay for a 3:45 pm game. Good luck to both teams!
Ms Tracy's class loved having KJ be our friend of the day! He taught us all about himself, all of his important responsibilities at GSB then let us take apart computers to learn about all the parts.
Our third graders enjoyed our monthly FARMS lesson. We made 3 Sisters Stew, cranberry sauce, wild rice, and apple cornbread. Students later served this dish to their family at our 3rd is Thankful event.
Mrs. Girard's 5th and 6th grade students have started their monthly visits to Skidompha Library. In November, they investigated the non-fiction sections and how the Dewey Decimal System works.
The 7th grade boys basketball and girls basketball teams went to Bristol yesterday. Both teams played tough, and in the end, picked up losses.
The girls game was tied at halftime, and the final score was 36 to 27. The team started four 6th graders who were called upon to play key minutes. The whole team played with a lot of heart and effort. They have a lot to be proud of!
Next up for basketball, the boys 8th grade team and girls team host Richmond this Saturday, 12/6, at 10 AM (boys) and 11:15 (girls). Good luck to both teams!

Basketball season is underway! Yesterday, GSB's 8th grade boys and girls basketball teams went to Nobleboro for their first games of the season. Both teams came away with their wins! The boys 7th grade team hosted Woolwich and battled hard, but in the end came up short 48 to 58.
Next up, the boys 7th grade team and girls team head to Bristol tomorrow, December 3rd, for games at 3:45 PM (boys) and 5 PM (girls). Best of luck to both teams!
